What’s it about?

This blog is an exposition of 2 Samuel 15-19 in the Bible. These chapters relate the account of  the time that David’s reign came under attack from Absalom. While the focus is on the text itself, the goal is to understand how these chapters illuminate the gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ.

The blog has been called ‘The Dance of David’ because it will be argued that these chapters are an outworking of his reply to Michal in 2 Samuel 6. In that chapter Michal despised David for the manner in which he danced, to which David responded:

“I will make myself yet more contemptible than this, and I will be abased in your eyes. But by the female servants of whom you have spoken, by them I shall be held in honor.”
